Episode 1: The Folly

by Madeline Hunter Smith

The Folly is a dark and thrilling tale of finding, and losing, oneself. A brilliant mix of suburban gothic and cosmic horror, the story follows Winslow, who's recently moved to a chic inner-city neighbourhood in the big city from her farm town. After exploring a seemingly-abandoned ruin site while walking her neighbour's dog, Winslow discovers that her world is not all it seems to be...

Episode Location:

The Folly, Rideau Park, Calgary SW

You should be listening to this episode at Deadman’s Castle, a ruin site in the Rideau Park neighbourhood of Calgary’s Southwest. The closest address is: 3625 4 Street SW, Calgary, AB (near the Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building) . If you’re facing the gate of the pioneer building, there’s a bike path to your right just past the row of pine trees. Stay on this path until it bends to the left. There’s a fork in the path, keep left and after a few more steps you’ll find a park bench. This is the location! It’s about a 2-minute walk west 4th street SW.

HINT: Read the writing on the wall and find the foundation slab if you can...
