JOB POST: OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR AND PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Jupiter Theatre is hiring three seasonal positions to assist in the development of a feature film project over the summer of 2026. We’re seeking filmmakers and theatre creators to join our company in two roles: Office Administrator and Production Assistant. 


The work will be a hybrid of remote work and in-person work in Calgary, Alberta. In addition to administrative and production work with the company, these positions will assist in the development of our current digital production (a feature-length horror film).


We’re seeking people interested in film and film production and are able to work on both the artistic and production side of a project. Key skills for us include collaboration, communication, and a willingness to experiment and learn new things. The work will vary depending on the chosen applications, but overall we’re looking for individuals who are organized, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple tasks in a creative environment. 


The chosen applicants will work full-time for eight weeks starting June 29, 2026. The jobs are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, so applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment. 


Workers will be paid $18/hour with the Office Administrator role working 30 hours per week and the Production Assistant role working 35 hours per week.


We will accept applications until 11:59 pm (MDT) on May 29, 2026. Interviews will take place between June 1 and June 12, 2026. 


For the development of this project, we’re specifically looking for people with experience, skills, and/or interest in the following areas:


  • Screenwriting (and/or playwriting)

  • Video editing

  • Macro photography

  • Social media and content creation

  • Graphic design (and/or graphic illustration)

  • Storyboarding 

  • Concept Art


ABOUT THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR ROLE

The Office Administrator role will support the administrative functions and marketing/publicity activities of the company and film project in development. Key tasks and responsibilities include: 


  • Provide administrative assistance including scheduling, email correspondence, and managing records and databases.

  • Manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling posts, and community engagement.

  • Help ensure consistent branding across all platforms in regards to graphics and copy. 

  • Assist in grant writing, as appropriate.

  • Creative brainstorming and experimentation. 

  • Updating and maintaining websites and newsletters.

  • Tracking marketing metrics and reports on performance.

  • Being ready to step in to help managers when needed.

  • Other duties depending on the skills of the selected applicants.


ABOUT THE PRODUCTION ASSISTANT ROLE

A Production Assistant will provide support to our team in the creative and producing aspects of the projects in development. Key tasks and responsibilities include: 


  • Organizing and maintaining documents, spreadsheets, and online databases. 

  • Sourcing, maintaining, transporting, and organizing production materials such as sets, costumes, and properties.

  • Taking and circulating notes in meetings. 

  • Helping coordinate and maintain schedules. 

  • Creative brainstorming and experimentation. 

  • Managing inventory of production materials and archiving documents and images for future reference. 

  • Being ready to step up and help managers when needed.

  • Other duties depending on the skills of the selected applicants.

  • The deadline to submit is 11:59 PM (MDT) on May 29, 2026.

  • Submissions must be sent by email with the name of the role in the subject line. Use either “SUBMISSION - OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR” or “SUBMISSION - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT”.


Funding for these three positions is provided through the Canada Summer Jobs program. As such, eligible applicants must:


  • be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment (June 29, 2026);

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment; and

  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
