COVID-19 Statement from Jupiter Theatre

Jupiter Theatre is taking the concerns of Coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously and is monitoring the situation closely as it evolves. On March 12, 2020, the Alberta Government made an announcement with new public health restrictions. Currently, the risk of COVID-19 in Calgary is assessed as low and the company is not planning changes to our upcoming production of Mockus by George M. Johnson. Mockus is being performed at the West Village Theatre, which has a patron capacity of 80. This meets the current recommended standards of low-risk public gatherings. The West Village Theatre has released a statement that the venue will remain open on a day-by-day basis as the situation evolves. We encourage our ticket holders and patrons to adhere to the guidelines listed in this statement with particular attention to the following message:

“We are kindly requesting that any guests of the West Village Theatre stay at home if they have recently travelled outside of Alberta, are in the category of vulnerable individuals (including older adults and those with serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease), or show signs of any sickness.”

We will continue to follow the most up-to-date Alberta Health Services, World Health Organization (WHO), and Alberta Government guidelines on the situation. Our decision to continue with our production may change at the situation evolves. Jupiter Theatre’s top priority is the health and safety of our patrons, artists, volunteers, and staff.

We thank you for your understanding and support at this time.

Kind regards,

The Jupiter Theatre Team
